    We’re seeking an experienced full-time Risk Control & Safety Consultant to join our Risk Control and Safety Team.  This person will be responsible for providing consultations to manufacturing and industrial processing clients mainly in the Southeast United States (U.S.), but may also travel throughout the United States or internationally. This role provides clients with strategic safety leadership and assists with implementing and carrying out best practices for clients to meet or exceed industry safety standards. This is an excellent opportunity for a career-minded individual who wants to make a meaningful contribution to a wide variety of clients’ safety cultures.

     

    Ideally this person will live in the Greater Atlanta area. This role can work from home when not traveling to client sites (which is about 50% of the time), however travel to the office in Duluth will be necessary at times as well for trainings and meetings.

    Program Manager, Aviation Safety, EWR Redevelopment with the Port Authority of NY & NJ

    About the Role

    Aviation Redevelopment is looking for an experienced Safety Manager to manage safety operations of construction activities in accordance with contract requirements and best management safety practices.

    Responsibilities

    Under the direction of the Program Director, EWR Redevelopment, the Safety Manager will: 

    • Conduct routine site assessments to identify hazardous work practices and conditions;
    • Liaise with construction managers and contractors in developing corrective action strategies to eliminate hazardous conditions and prevent workplace incidents;
    • Participate in safety meetings, job briefings, plan reviews, progress meetings, "toolbox talks";
    • Review contractor submitted health and safety plans, job hazard analyses, means and methods, and pre-task plans to ensure compliance with Port Authority Safety Standards and regulatory conformity;
    • Participate in and document accident and incident investigations;
    • Ensure adherence to Port Authority Safety and Security Program Standards, Policies and Procedures and any other related regulatory safety standards;
    • Evaluate proposed operating procedures modifications and refer proposed changes to management as needed for review and approval. This includes review of temporary change notices, engineering change notices and field modification instructions issued by the Operator;
    • Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, summary reports, KPIs and safety metrics, for trend analysis;
    • Maintain and update PA Audit Plan and perform internal audits including audits and inspections of safety, facilities and maintenance records;
    • Coordinate and liaise with PA Risk and ATSOB to ensure correct policies and protocols are being communicated with contractors;
    • Coordinate with PAPD and facilitate interdepartmental emergency drills utilizing tabletop and field simulation of emergencies;
    • Participate as a subject matter expert in depositions, hearings, or other legal matters as required by PA Law Department;
    • Ensure coordination with Facility Operations, ARFF, PAPD, Fire Marshalls and PA Emergency Operations Center (EOC) in preparation and responding to emergency;
    • Coordinate EWR Redevelopment Emergency Response Plan with PA and Regional plans as required;

    Participate in EWR Airport and AirTrain full scale exercises as needed

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university;
    • Minimum of five (5) years or more working in the safety management, health or   environmental field
    • Knowledge of safety rules, regulations related to Transit Safety Based entities like OSHA, FRA, FTA or DOT
    • Ability to respond to construction site emergencies, Emergency Operations Center (EOC) duty, etc. 24 hours/seven days a week.

    Desired Qualifications

    • Understanding of OSHA regulations for Construction and General Industry;
    • Understanding state and federal safety standards and guidelines, including but limited to the following agencies, NJ DOT, FAA, etc.;
    • Possess a valid OSHA 30-hour card in the Construction Industry less than five-years old;
    • Ability to research federal, state, and local regulations and databases;
    • Experience performing comprehensive focused safety inspections on major construction projects;
    • Experience in accident causation investigations and documentation;
    • Experience in the review of contractor health and safety plans, job hazard analyses, and work plans;
    • Excellent interpersonal, communication and writing skills;
    • Demonstrated effective project and contract management skills;
    • Demonstrated statistical proficiency and statistical report generation;
    • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously to meet tight deadlines;
    • Demonstrated experience responding to and dealing with emergencies;
    • Safety certifications such as CSP, CHST, OHST and/or willingness to obtain;
    • Field supervisory experience of construction activities.

    Impact Safety is looking for an Industrial Hygienist/Safety for about three weeks for a project in Tennessee. Must have a related degree and 5 years field experience. Tasks will include, but not limited to, RCS sampling, heat stress, noise level monitoring, and the typical industrial site safety duties. The IH equipment will be provided.     The Industrial Hygienist (IH) serves as the primary oversight/1iaison for construction, renovation, demolition and general maintenance projects in order to reduce the potential risk of exposure and transmission of infectious organisms and other harmful exposures to patient, visitors, staff and community. The IH is responsible for the following: safe construction practices as they relate to dust, noise and odor control exposures, indoor air quality, building envelope physics, material staging, plumbing tie-ins, and variable volume HVAC systems; designing “best practice” plans for protecting said variables above and providing the best possible phasing protection plans for patients, visitors, and staff.

    Job Overview:

    The Commercial Insurance Loss Control & Risk Management Specialist is responsible for providing Loss Control and Risk Management services to designated Applied Risk Solutions clients. These services include but are NOT limited to:

    Responsibilities (not all inclusive):

    · Identifying potential loss-producing conditions

    The Industrial Hygienist position is responsible for recognizing and evaluating potential occupational health hazards and for developing and managing control measures that are designed to mitigate potential occupational illnesses that comply with the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations. This position will be located at Southern Power Company Corporate Headquarters in Birmingham, AL or Atlanta, GA and has job responsibilities at company facilities located throughout the continental US.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Provide industrial hygiene support for Southern Power, including rendering advice on specific compliance measures

    • Conduct employee exposure assessments

    • Evaluate and interpret rules and regulations

    • Develop and deliver compliance and training programs

    • Develop, implement, manage and maintain the industrial hygiene programs - Significant travel throughout the continental US, primarily in Georgia, Alabama and North Carolina. This role will including regular overnight travel

    Job Experience:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Hygiene or related field is required
