The Industrial Hygienist (IH) serves as the primary oversight/1iaison for construction, renovation, demolition and general maintenance projects in order to reduce the potential risk of exposure and transmission of infectious organisms and other harmful exposures to patient, visitors, staff and community. The IH is responsible for the following: safe construction practices as they relate to dust, noise and odor control exposures, indoor air quality, building envelope physics, material staging, plumbing tie-ins, and variable volume HVAC systems; designing “best practice” plans for protecting said variables above and providing the best possible phasing protection plans for patients, visitors, and staff.
Program Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Hygiene, or related science.
- Experience in: indoor air quality analysis, monitoring hazardous exposure, and policy development for eliminating and improving occupation exposure routes.
- Experience and/or knowledge of environmental regulatory areas such as Title V, NPDES, TSCA, EPCRA, and RCRA etc.
- Knowledge and experience in the use of computer databases.
