About Us

We are the Georgia Local Section (GLS) of The American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA)

Why do we exist?

  • To Provide a forum for Industrial Hygiene Professionals to meet at the local level to work together to advance the goals and objectives of the profession.
  • To increase knowledge of industrial and environmental health through the exchange and dissemination of information based on sound science.
  • To increase communication and interaction with individuals interested in industrial and environmental health.
  • To promote the profession and the use of good science through cooperation with government, industry, academia, and other professional associations.
  • To participate in the legislative and regulatory activities which impact on industrial hygienists and the profession in Georgia.
  • To sustain the continued growth of the industrial hygiene profession through support of student activities (i.e., student section, scholarships, etc.) and outreach to local educational institutions.

What we do
